Lake Wenatchee State Park
-- Groomed sliding run, unsupervised. Open daily, 8 a.m. to dusk. Sno-park permit required.

Deer Creek Road-- Unsupervised area just beyond Silverton in Snohomish County on Mountain Loop Highway, which ends here in winter. Lower portion of Deer Creek Road (closed to vehicles in winter) is used as sledding run. Open daily.

Hyak Sno-Park-- Unsupervised area near Summit East ski area (formerly known as Hyak). Sno-park permit required, and those buying an annual permit also must pay a special grooming surcharge of $20 at this sno-park. It is not required of those buying one-day permits. Open daily.

Paradise -- Mount Rainier National Park operates two groomed tubing runs, supervised on weekends. Only plastic saucers and inner tubes allowed. Road to Paradise open daily, but on a conditional basis; call 360-569-2211, Ext. 1, for road updates. Park entrance fee is $10 per car.

Hurricane Ridge-- Offers two areas: the Sunrise Family Snowplay Area one mile north of the visitor center; and the Tiny Tots Snowplay Area for very young children only, near the visitor center. Supervised on weekends, holidays. Hurricane Ridge Road open on a conditional basis. Call 360-452-0329. Park entrance fee is $10 per car.

Mount Baker ski area-- Near Picture Lake, not far from Heather Meadows Lodge. Short but exciting sliding run on Forest Service land. Open daily but not operated by the ski area and is unsupervised.

Stevens Pass ski area-- Operates Tube City, with several groomed runs reached by special rope tows. Open daily, 1-9 p.m. Tickets are $8 for two hours, tubes included.

Summit Central ski area-- Operates Summit Tubing Center, near Summit Central, the old Ski Acres. Several groomed runs are reached by special rope tows. Lodge with food and beverages. Tickets $10 for ages 12 and older, $8 for those under 12; includes tubes.

Squilchuck State Park-- Outside Wenatchee and operated by Mission Ridge ski area. Several tube runs reached by special rope tow. Lodge with food and beverages. Tickets $8; includes tubes.
